The Fats You Need for a Healthy Diet

An interesting read from Mother Earth News, this article discuses Ancel Keys' lipid hypothesis which many are now questioning. This held that a high-fat diet — particularly one high in saturated fat — contributed to high cholesterol, which in turn led to heart disease in the form of plaque buildup in the arteries. There's been some nice press lately for Gunthorp Farms who supply our chicken, duck, turkey and pork. They've been profiled in Consumer Reports and a trade publication. Located in Lagrange, Ind., Gunthorp Farms raises, processes and distributes pork, chicken, duck and turkey from its 200-acre farm. Owner Greg Gunthorp says that his animals are never given antibiotics, hormones, growth promotants or animal by-products.
